Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10/22/2025
Welcome to Alloquy ("we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website and services (collectively, the "Service"). Please read this policy carefully.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect information about you in a variety of ways. The information we may collect on the Service includes:
- Personal and Account Information: When you register for an account, we collect personally identifiable information, such as your name, email address, and password.
- Profile Information: To build your public portfolio, you may provide additional information such as a professional headline, a biography, social media links, and avatar or banner images.
- Achievement Data: You provide information about your professional achievements, including titles, summaries, and dates. This information is intended to be displayed publicly.
- Third-Party Account Data (Integrations): If you choose to connect a third-party service like Google Drive, we request **read-only** access. We store an authentication token to maintain the connection, your email address associated with the account, and the metadata (like file names and URLs) of documents you link to your achievements.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To Provide and Manage the Service: To create and manage your account, operate your public profile, and provide customer support.
- To Power Your AI Assistant: This is a core feature of our service. When you link a source document to an achievement, we process its content. This works as follows:
- We access the content of your linked documents via a secure, read-only connection.
- This content is passed to a third-party large language model (LLM) to be converted into a numerical representation (a "vector embedding").
- These vector embeddings, which do not contain the original text, are stored and associated with your account. They form the knowledge base for your AI assistant.
- **We do not store the original content of your documents on our servers at any point.**
- To Improve the Service: To monitor and analyze usage and trends to improve your experience with the Service.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information we have collected about you in certain situations:
- Public Profile: Your full name, headline, bio, social links, and any achievements marked as "Active" are publicly visible on your profile page.
- Third-Party Service Providers: We may share your information with third parties that perform services for us or on our behalf, including data analysis, email delivery, hosting services, and generative AI processing (e.g., Google's Gemini models). We only share what is necessary for them to perform their function.
- By Law or to Protect Rights: If we believe the release of information about you is necessary to respond to legal process, to investigate or remedy potential violations of our policies, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of others, we may share your information as permitted or required by any applicable law.
4. Data Security & Retention
We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.
We will retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. When you delete your account, we will delete your personal information from our active databases.
5. Your Choices and Rights
You have rights over your personal information. You can:
- Access and Update Your Information: You may review and change your account and profile information at any time by logging into your account settings.
- Control Achievement Visibility: You can toggle the "Active" status of any achievement to control whether it appears on your public profile.
- Disconnect Integrations: You can disconnect your Google Drive or other third-party accounts at any time from your dashboard, which will revoke our access.
- Delete Your Account: You can delete your account by contacting us. This action is irreversible and will permanently delete all your data from our systems.
6. Changes to Our Privacy Policy
We may modify or update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date of this Privacy Policy. You are encouraged to periodically review this Privacy Policy to stay informed of our updates.
7. Contact Us
